Over recent years I have had the honour to Chair the Willunga Farmers Market, in my view, the best Famers Market in Australia. I have been involved in some way or other since its inception eighteen and a half years and I love it.

2020 has been a difficult year and I suspect 2021 will continue to give us challenges. I would like to remain on the board to assist in ensuring the market continues to be sustainable and a safe and enjoyable shopping environment for our stallholders and our customers.

I think that my extensive background in food and food and wine tourism together with my business and governance experience places me in a good position to add value to the board

and to support the market team in the task of ensuring that the market continues to be strong and relevant to all our stake holders.

For many of us the market is central to our eating and living. I love being part of that.

Michael Lewis*

I am Michael Lewis, together with my wife Robyn Dahl we have been a continuous member of the WFM since the very beginning of this great market. In recent years I have fronted the Farm Willunga stall – until we recently sold the business In July this year. I particularly enjoy the atmosphere and support of the local community – the market is a special place.

Having also had the privilege to participate on the board and in the current role of deputy chair I enjoy being an active participant applying the experience and skills that I have developed across a number of senio roles in different private and public enterprises in various industries as well as from our business The Farm Willunga. The Farm business is one Robyn and I have operated for the last nearly 20 years during which time we have maintained a stall at the market and played our part in  contributing to the continued growth  of the WFM

I am keen to continue and participate on the board and work the other members to continue to make the WFM the preeminent farmers market in Australia

Michael Taylor*

Michael grew up in McLaren Vale and has recently returned to the area. Being the recipient of the WFM 2017 young farmers scholarship, Michael operated Primordia Mushshooms and gained insight into the operation and importance of the market from a producer perspective.

Michael has recently “sold his soul” to Wesfarmers to provide biological risk advice, particularly surrounding COVID-19 and would like to offer his continuing support to the board during a difficult time in the region and Australia’s history.

*renominated for position on the Willunga Farmers Market board.
